چکیده
Limestone calcination is an important part of calcium looping (CaL) technology and critical to the design operation optimization fluidized bed reactors. However, obtaining a method measuring fast kinetics in fluidizing environment with isothermal conditions still challenge field looping. We address this work develop new limestone by injecting particles into hot sands microfluidized thermogravimetric analysis (MFB-TGA) mass measurement resolution 1 mg. The characteristics are investigated at different particle sizes (150–1250 μm), temperatures (750–920 °C), CO2 concentrations (0–30 vol.%). experimental data measured from MFB-TGA were analyzed using detailed model including surface reaction intraparticle external diffusion. results show that faster than those via regular TGA. This particle-injecting provides idea for occurring inside reactors guidance on application CaL technology.

The Kinetics of Calcination of High Calcium Limestone
The kinetics of calcination of a high calcium type of limestone was studied. Ukpilla limestone found in the central region of Nigeria was studied. The limestone composition shows that the limestone has 51.29% calcium oxide and 41.53% loss on ignition and magnesium oxide content of 2.23%. The following parameters were determined; diffusion coefficient of lime layer, and mass transfer coefficient...
متن کاملLimestone Attrition during Fluidized Bed Calcium Looping Cycles for Co2 Capture: the Effect of So2
Attrition of six different limestones was studied during calcium looping cycles for CO2 capture in a lab-scale fluidized bed apparatus. The tests were carried out under realistic conditions representative of a process with calcination in an oxy-firing environment. The focus of the activity was to investigate the effect of the presence of SO2 both in the calcination and in the carbonation stages...
متن کاملThermal decomposition of dolomite under CO2: insights from TGA and in situ XRD analysis.
Thermal decomposition of dolomite in the presence of CO2 in a calcination environment is investigated by means of in situ X-ray diffraction (XRD) and thermogravimetric analysis (TGA). The in situ XRD results suggest that dolomite decomposes directly at a temperature around 700 °C into MgO and CaO. Immediate carbonation of nascent CaO crystals leads to the formation of calcite as an intermediate...

Fluidized Bed Desulfurization using Lime Obtained after Slow Calcination of Limestone Particles
In this work we have tested the fluidized bed desulfurization performance of lime particles obtained by means of a proprietary limestone slow calcination pre-treatment technique. This performance was compared to that of the parent untreated limestone particles. The occurrence of particle fragmentation and attrition during the fluidized bed operation was also investigated with a specific test pr...
